How I have developed my skills

I have found that while doing this coursework I have learnt a LOT of new skills. Before I started, I had no idea how to make or edit a video, now I can do it successfully! The above video is of me talking about all the aspects of media that I have developed in, throughout doing my coursework.

Evaluation 4

The perfect audience member: Here is a vlog on the most suitable audience member to watch our film, and what sort of characteristics she might have.

Evaluation 3

This is my directors commentary for "Today's the Day". It shows and discusses what type of media institution would distribute our clip. It also gives information on the logo, and why production companies would choose to distribute one of our films.

Evaluation 1

1 Title: We chose to put the title as it is because it is plain and simple. we chose that font for the title as it is like a font that you would see in a chick flit i.e. girly, which is what our film would be like if we where to carry on making it.

2 Setting: The girly bedroom is suitable because it reflects the girls character, feelings and emotions. It is a cool, chilled out place to be, just like she is meant to be a cool, chilled out person.

3 Costumes: The third image is with all the girls standing at the sink, they are all wearing similar pyjamas/dressing gowns, but our girl is wearing more revealing sleep where, this shows that she is quite differently minded.

4 Camera Work and Editing: Throughout our opening, we have tried to use as many different camera shots and editing techniques as possible. When in the bathroom we went from a medium shot to and over the shoulder shot, to a close up of the taps, and back to a medium shot.

5 Fonts and style: We have chosen the opening credits to be in the same font as the title. We did this to help keep Constancy. The font is clear and easy to read, but also makes our opening look stylish, and adds a bit of fun to it.

6 Story/Narrative: In the sixth clip their is a voice over, this means that our clip is also audio orientated, meaning their is more for your body to do while taking in our film. For example, listen to what is being said and think about it, and watch what is going on, as well as taking it all in.

7 Genre and suggestions of it: In the seventh clip you see Niona adjusting her hair, and getting changed.  Their will be happy music playing at the time, and the colours in the film are bright, this will create a happy atmosphere. The girl will be quite flirty, so it, and the occasional funny thing will happen, that is why this film is a romantic comedy.

8 Characters: All the girls at the sinks will be the girls closest friends in the boarding house. Though as you can see she stands out from them. Their will be significant guys throughout the film, but none of which are involved in the opening clip.

9 Special effects: At the beginning when the camera is fast forwarding, into Plewlands, the shot is put into black and white. This is a nice change to the rest of the clip, it also makes the waking up more significant, because it is the first time we see colour.

Changes we made

Where we got our copyright free music "Pass the Glass/So Don't Let Go"

We are putting a song called Pass the Glass on our video, it is form a website called live freeplay music, the website address is below.
The song is copyright free and is written by: Sweet Diss and the Comebacks. It is 4.33 long, but we will not be needing all of it, so wee will end up cropping it.
The below screen shot is of the song on the copyright free website Live.FreeplayMusic. We bought if for 99p and have added it to our video.

Alice and I sent the below email to sweediss@gmail.com

Hi, I was wondering if you could please confirm that the song Pass the Glass is copyright free? I was hoping to use it for a video, would it be ok?
Kind regards,
Alice

The reply form her was...

Hello Alice!

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you... I recently moved and haven't checked my emails for a few days. As for the song, you have our full permission to use it! As for copyright stuff, you probably found it through FreePlay and I'm not sure exactly how they work. I think it's copyright free but I am not positive. If you are concerned about it, you can just call it "So Don't Let Go" instead. That was the original title which I "own" so to speak, and "Pass the Glass" is the title FreePlay uses. It's exaclty the same song and recording, just two different titles so they can do what they want with "Pass the Glass" and I can do what I want with "So Don't Let Go". Kinda complicated, but anyway... yes, you may use it, regardless of which title!
NatePS - Be sure to send me a link to your video project when it's done, I'd love to see it! : ) Best of luck...

So as we can see the song that we are using is copyright free, and to confirm, it is best to use it under the name of "So Don't Let Go".
